Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • Possess a current unrestricted license in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Board certification in Family Practice American Board of Family Practice, the American Association of Physician Specialists, or the American Osteopathic Association AND not less than 2 years of experience within the last 3 years as a full-time Family Practice Physician. Notwithstanding the aforementioned experience requirements, the HCW must have pertinent clinical experience within the past 2 years sufficient to demonstrate current clinical competency for the setting and procedures required by this task order. 
  • Have graduated from a residency training program in Family Practice/ Internal Medicine approved by the accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association Graduates of medical schools other than those listed above must have passed either the FMGEMS or the ECFM or have completed Fifth Pathway.
  • Possess and maintain a current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). The American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course is the only program accepted.
  • Possess board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
Scheduling details:
  • Mayport Clinic operates Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M  to 5:00 P.M. AND Saturdays 6:30 A.M  to 1:30 P.M. The clinics are closed on Sundays and on Federal holidays and on the day of observance. Shifts lengths may be variable from 4 hours, 8.5 hours ( to include an uncompensated .5 hour break), to 9-12 hours ( to include a 1 hour meal break). Shifts may be rotated. Schedules may vary during peak demand seasons, or during periods when other providers are absent.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer.
  • Provide technical direction to, perform with, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals seeing patients.
  • Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
